30-Day Public Comment Period

The Former Elrama Chrome Shop Site, located in the Elrama neighborhood of Union Township, will be remediated soon. The Redevelopment Authority will provide a $20,000 loan to the Township to partially fund the remediation project. Public comment s will be accepted by the Redevelopment Authority from August 30 through September 29, 2017. An information repository for the project, including a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, is located at the Redevelopment Authority office and is available for viewing during normal business hours. The Community Relations Plan and the draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives for the remediation of environmental hazards at the Former Elrama Chrome Shop Site will be available for viewing at the Redevelopment Authority office.

Free Firewood – Finleyville Airport

Union Township Residents

The airport is clearing trees (as a favor and no cost to the community) and are offering free firewood to any resident. The residents must cut and haul the firewood themselves. The trees are down and branches are trimmed off.
You must contact the Airport Manager, Tom Riemer (412-901-7682) for instructions and location of firewood.

Notice to Bidders

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by Union Township, 3904 Finleyville-Elrama Road, Finleyville, PA 15332 until Monday, March 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. prevailing time for the “2017 Garvin Road: Dirt, Gravel, And Low Volume Road Maintenance Project.” The bid envelope must be labeled as “2017 Garvin Road: Dirt, Gravel, And Low Volume Road Maintenance Project.” The bids will be publicly open and read aloud Monday, March 13, 2017, that same day, at 7:00pm during the public meeting of the Union Township Board of Supervisors. Bid documents are available at the Project Engineer’s Office, Harshman CE Group LLC, 100 Courson Hill Road, Washington, PA 15301, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $25.00 for each set of documents. Bid documents will not be mailed.
A bid security in the form of a certified check or bid bond drawn to the order of Union Township executed by the bidder and the surety company, satisfactory to the Township, in an amount equal to ten (10%) percent of the total bid amount must be submitted with the bid proposal. All proposals shall be submitted in accordance with the instructions to bidders contained in the bid documents. Union Township hereby reserves the right, which is understood and agreed to by all bidders, to reject any or all bids submitted; and also reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bids received. Bids may be held by Union Township of a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding the contract.
